Organized and pleasant home life + accessible music instruction for children

About Us

Hi! We are Kelley and Hailey from the Harmonious Home

The purpose of our content is twofold:

1.) to provide accessible music education for parents of young children, and

2) share organized, functional, and pleasant home life. Hence, “harmonious.”

We see many people finding their purposes in iced coffee and scrolling social media. I (Kelley) used to feel this way at times and I would take steps to implement better habits. These better habits would typically die away after a few days and I would return to my days of disorganization and minimal productivity.

We would like to suggest that there is life and pleasure to be had in simple, productive, and beautiful work.

This is something I (Kelley) have learned over time and am still learning. The habits, routines, goals, and organizational helps that I have written down and adopted into my life have helped me to enjoy the work that is in front of me.

The tasks I have taken on have motivated me to work harder and to enjoy that work.

A bit about Kelley:

  • I’m a true Christian, a wife, and a stay at home mother to 3 children 3 and under with aspirations for more (yes, really!)
  • We currently live in an extensively renovated pre-1840’s stone farmhouse.
  • I’m almost crunchy and enjoy health and nutrition.
  • My husband owns a large greenhouse with his family, so I enjoy making friends with the working team, walking my children through the airy and warm space in the winters, and choosing my favorite flowers and vegetables in the spring to take home.
  • I have a master’s degree in Kodaly Music Education, and have my Kodaly certificate. I enjoy offering free children’s music classes to children in my church and home community when I can. My specialty is in voice and I taught elementary general music before having kids.
  • I love books, traveling, trying new things, spending time with horses, and matcha green tea.
  • I’m currently on a baby weight loss journey! Slow and steady wins the race…

I am always inspired by listening to others on youtube or reading someone else’s blog.

Some of my favorite channels I’ve learned from so far:

A bit about Hailey:

Hi, I’m Hailey from Harmonious Home. I am first and foremost, a Christian and follower of Jesus; I am also a wife, mother to an almost six month old, and an elementary music educator. I am interested in making our home a comfortable and inviting place to live, while also learning to find balance in my other multiple roles!

  • I live in a 1940s cape cod and love old homes!
  • When I have free time, you might find me biking with my husband or kayaking local waterways.
  • Gardening is my therapy; I am a messy gardener that is interested in local plants and wildflowers and sustainable, eco-friendly gardening practices. I also love to grow and preserve my own vegetables.
  • I am blessed to have an architect as a husband and a contractor for a father; they are always game to design, refurbish, build, demolish, etc. whatever project I have in mind!
  • I have a Master’s in Music Education and have been an elementary music educator for over ten years.

Hopefully you’ll be inspired here too at the Harmonious Home as you explore children’s music and home life with us!
